There was approximately 45 bikes that showed up for the ride. We started our ride leaving Greencastle at 12pm and headed down 231 North to 36 West stopping at Castaways. We left there continuing on 36 to the 36 Saloon in Rockville. After a brief stop we headed out 41 South to Terre Haute Eagles located on Popular Street. Leaving the Eagles Lodge we went East on 42 to 59 North into Brazil stopping at their Eagles Lodge and Hunters Bar. Gloria was exceptional! She had karaoke waiting to welcome us. Thank you Gloria for a great stop! When we left Hunters we headed East on 40 to Manhattan Road back into Greencastle. We had dinner waiting on us to arrive (Thank you Cooney for a wonderful tasty meal). Through out the night we partied and had a great time ending our night with camping by the fire. The following weekend we had our appreciation dinner giving our $1000.00 grants to The Wellness Community and JD Miller a resident of Greencastle. We look forward to another successful year next year. Keep coming back to get the scoop on plans for the 2010 Ride/Event.

What The Granny Ride Is About
If your an adult and have had the misfortune of getting ill - then you know how difficult it is to get financial assistance from most government funded programs. The Granny ride was started in 2001 after the untimely death of Judy "Granny" Rubeck to Lung Cancer. While dealing with the fact that our loved one was terminally ill, we discovered first handed the hardship of an adult getting financial assistance from any where or anyone! Judy lost her life before she was approved for disability. Her husband made to much money to qualify for state assistance, and any health insurance she had - was "jacked up" in price so that she could not afford to keep it. Her husband nearly went bankrupt and still is struggling to recover from all the medical bills. We are a non-profit group who raises money to help adults that have cancer that has not received state or federal assistance. We can not eliminate all the bills - but we do help! Our commitment is to help find a cure, and to help adults affected with cancer and their families. Each year we have surpassed our expectations in helping adults with cancer, and donating money to The Wellness Community
